Cassidy Nichole McAlpine was born on January 10, 2000 in Billings, Montana. She is the oldest child of three to Keith and Renee McAlpine and she has two younger brothers, Bucky and Nathan. Currently, Cassidy is in ninth grade at Connections Academy, graduating in 2018. During Cassidy's spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, shopping and swimming.

Cassidy started taking gymnastics classes at the age of three. She trained at Funtastics in Idaho under coaches Lisa & Dave Adlard and Rachel Tart. She competed in level 7 in 2009 and level 8 in 2009. In the summer of 2009, Cassidy started training at World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) in Plano, Texas.

As a second-year level 8 gymnast in 2010, Cassidy finished fifth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the Metroplex Challenge. At the Pikes Peak Cup, she placed third on floor exercise. Cassidy placed fourth on balance beam and floor exercise at the Houston National Invitational. At the State Championships, she finished first on balance beam and 17th in the all-around with a 37.725. Cassidy had a great meet at the Region 3 Championships where she finished third on balance beam and sixth in the all-around with a 38.250.

In 2011, Cassidy moved up to level 9. She finished first on balance beam and third on floor exercise at the IGI Chicago Style. At the WOGA Classic, she finished fifth on floor exercise and seventh in the all-around. She placed fifth in the all-around and first on balance beam at the Houston National Invitational. At the State Championships, she finished third on balance beam and sixth in the all-around. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals after finishing 12th in the all-around with a 37.525, sixth on uneven bars and fifth on balance beam at the Region 3 Championships. At the Western Nationals, she finished third on uneven bars and 16th in the all-around.

Cassidy moved up to level 10 for the 2012 season. She finished fourth in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the Fiesta Bowl Invitational. At the Texas Prime Meet, she placed fifth on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around. At the Houston National Invitational, she placed fourth on balance beam. Cassidy had a great meet at the State Championships, finishing third on balance beam, fifth on floor exercise and fourth in the all-around with a 37.750. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished ninth on uneven bars and sixth on balance beam.

In 2013, Cassidy finished fourth on uneven bars and third on balance beam at Texas Prime Meet. She also competed at the WOGA Classic (3rd on balance beam with a 9.650) and Houston National Invitational. She was unable to compete rest of the season due an injury.

Cassidy started her 2014 season at the Texas Prime Meet, finishing fourth in the all-around and second on uneven bars. At the WOGA Classic, she placed third on uneven bars and in the all-around. Cassidy had a great meet at the Nadia Comaneci Invitational where she won the all-around title with a 37.575 and earned gold medals on uneven bars and floor exercise and a silver medal on balance beam. At the California Classic, she placed third in the all-around, first on uneven bars and second on balance beam. Cassidy finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.500, first on uneven bars and fourth on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed fourth in the all-all-around with a 37.800, first on uneven bars, second on balance beam and fifth on floor exercise, qualifying to the Junior Olympic Nationals. In June 2014, Cassidy started training at Eagle Gymnastics Academy.

Currently, Cassidy is preparing for the 2016 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 36 hours per week at Eagle Gymnastics Academy in Frisco, Texas under coaches Velvet Jones and Jason Powell. Cassidy would like to qualify to junior international elite, make the National Team and obtain a college scholarship to a Division 1 school.
